On May 2nd 2024, the EU Justice Insight project celebrated its success with an engaging final conference. The event was organised in collaboration with our esteemed local partners—the Law Faculty of Trnava University and the Slovak Foreign Policy Association. During the event we introduced the project's achievements and offered valuable insights into European justice.

Held in the academic building of the Law Faculty of Trnava University, the conference attracted a diverse audience, with law students as the primary attendees. The day was packed with a variety of activities designed to deepen understanding of European legislation, the Court of Justice of the EU, and the role of individuals within their national systems.

The conference began with a warm welcome from JUDr. Ingrid Lanczová, PhD, the vice-dean of the Faculty of Law. The next speeches introducing the EU Justice Insight project were held by ED chairperson Denisa Karabová, and EUJI project manager Martin Maška. They provided an overview of the project and its various activities.

Following this, Martin Maška and Ali Honaramiz from TFN presented the "EU Justice Insight - Useful Tools for (not only) students of European law," highlighting practical resources developed through the project. This was followed by a panel discussion on "European Law and Integration," moderated by Denisa Karabová with panellists JUDr. Ing. Dominika Moravcová, MBA, and Mgr. Martin Mach.

The highlight of the conference was the session titled "20 Years of Slovakia in the EU," moderated by Eva Mihočková, Editor-in-Chief of zahranicnapolitika.sk. Panellists included Jozef Mihál, Member of the European Parliament (Renew Europe), Mária Červeňová, EP candidate (KDH), doc. JUDr. Peter Varga, PhD., from the Law Faculty of TU in Trnava, and Rastislav Mráz, Vice-Chairman of the Trnava Self-Governing Region. They reflected on Slovakia's two decades in the EU, discussing the country's achievements and challenges within the union.

The conference later continued with a discussion on the "Court of Justice of the EU," moderated by Martin Maška with insights from doc. JUDr. Peter Varga, PhD., and student of law Radka Karellová.

The event concluded with a reception and refreshments, allowing attendees to network and reflect on the day's discussions. This final conference provided a fitting end to the EU Justice Insight project, celebrating its successes and inspiring continued engagement with European justice.
